Festival of Trees 2010 is scheduled for November 12 – 19 at the Palmeiro Center on the campus of Mississippi State University.
Some of this year’s events will include: Preview Party, Ladies Night, Cookies with Santa, and the Holiday Party.
This year event organizers will also be offering ticket packages: Girls Night Out Package includes one Ladies Night ticket, one preview party ticket and one Holiday Party ticket for $75, Date Night package includes two preview party tickets and two Holiday Party tickets $ 115.
The Starkville branch of the Shockwave Aquatic Swim Team claimed eight individual state last weekend in Cleveland.
It turns out to be the final competition of the summer season for the Starkville members of the squad.
Starkville had four qualifiers for this week's regional championships in Atlanta, but Laken Vickers, Cheng Ye, Andy Bond and Adina Harri have chosen not to participate at the meet hosted by Georgia Tech.

Starkville Academy ended its first day of workouts Monday afternoon with dark, threatening clouds hanging over the practice field.
Quite an ironic scene, seeing as to how this was the day the sun had risen on a new era of Volunteer football.
"It's a completely different atmosphere out here than it was last year," said SA senior quarterback Kyle Henson. "It's more intense. Everybody is hollering and hooping. It's like everyone wants to be out here, it's not just something we're out here to do."
EUPORA — Larry E. Harrison, 57, former employee Futorian Manufacturing, died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at his home in Eupora.
His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Oliver Funeral Home chapel with burial in the Sapa Cemetery in Webster County.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora, which is in charge of all arrangements.
Starkville High School head football coach Jamie Mitchell issued a challenge to his team at the end of the second of two practices to start the preseason on Monday.
The goal he emphasized for his first season with the Yellowjackets is making a return to the Class 6A playoffs.
Starkville was able to do that last year, but was dominated and eliminated in the first round by Madison Central 63-27.
Mitchell believes the playoffs is somewhere the Jackets are supposed to be and wants them to perform better when they get there.
The West Oktibbeha Timberwolves began preseason football practice Monday morning with one purpose in mind.
One of the keys early for coach Adam Lowrey is getting the Timberwolves back in shape and the minds back on the game.
"It's hard to think about school and football when you are so excited to be out for the summer," Lowrey said. "Focusing on work is the thing we're looking to do this week."
After considering postponing the start of practice a day or two, Lowrey decided to go ahead and join other schools for the first official day high schools can begin drills.
Starkville Academy football coach Jeff Terrill has a pretty good idea what he has to work with this fall.
The challenge in his first year on the job at the private school is to figure out something about opponents.
It’s something Terrell intends to learn as the preseason progresses.
