The Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers learned on Tuesday that they would not be opening the soccer season at Washington School as scheduled today.

GALLMAN – The Starkville Academy softball team lost an 11-1 decision on the road to a tough Copiah Academy squad Tuesday night.
Bette Mahoney Rice, 86, a long-time resident of Starkville, passed away on August 8, 2011, from a year long battle of cancer.
Maebell Ashley Palmertree, 99, passed away in Mathiston on August 9, 2011.
LOUISVILLE — Miss Betty Sue Jackson, 79, died Monday, August 8, 2011, at Carrington Nursing Home in Starkville.
