Former colleagues of longtime Democratic Miss. Sen. Bennie Turner all said the state lost one of its finest leaders after he died Tuesday afternoon.
The Starkville Yellowjackets have gotten used to quarterback Gabe Myles giving every ounce of effort to the offense the last two seasons.

TUPELO â The Starkville Yellowjackets improved their record to 6-0 in boys soccer Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory over Tupelo.
It was the first win at Tupelo in school history.
Taylor Wise and Juan Salazar had one goal each for the Yellowjackets.

On Tuesday, Bulldog athletic director Scott Stricklin introduced Gordon as the fourth head coach of the women's soccer team.
