Starkville Police Department confirmed Dennis Martell Thompson turned himself in to authorities at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday just hours after SPD issued a release announcing a warrant for his arrest on an aggravated assault charge.
He is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Former colleagues of longtime Democratic Miss. Sen. Bennie Turner all said the state lost one of its finest leaders after he died Tuesday afternoon.
