November 26th
Two Starkville residents were arrested in Monroe County early Saturday morning and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Andrew Jenkins, 25, of 136 Pecan Acres, and Pier Randle, 24, of 134 Sand Road Apartment 97, were booked at 1:48 a.m. Saturday morning and are still in Monroe County custody.
Due to inclement weather, the Greater Starkville Development Partnership postponed the 2012 Christmas Parade to Tuesday at 6 p.m.
November 25th
Mississippi State University established a committee to increase its recruitment and retention of minority and female faculty and staff during its October Faculty Senate meeting.
Holly Travis is still a few months from graduating from Starkville High School, but a few years ago, she was able to step into the high heels of a Rockette.
November 24th
OXFORD – It had to happen sometime.
When Dan Mullen took over as coach of the Mississippi State football program, beating Ole Miss was on the top of his list.
Saturday night that didn't happen.
The Rebels (6-6, 3-5) beat the No. 25 (Associated Press) Bulldogs (8-4, 4-4) 41-24 in the Egg Bowl in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
OXFORD – Mississippi State may have lost the game, but for one Bulldog senior, the Egg Bowl was a record-breaking performance.
OXFORD – The 109th Egg Bowl did not disappoint.
It also sported the longest run in series history.
After Ole Miss took an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter, Mississippi State sophomore wide receiver Jameon Lewis took the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for a score.

What a painting and what a story. It was 35 years ago on October 10, 1977 when I drove down old Highway 25 made a right turn where the Noxubee River crosses back of this side, and I turned west. Here I discovered the most beautiful autumn scene I have every laid eyes on or seen!
