Two gravel roads on property annexed by the city of Starkville in 1998 are receiving a much needed facelift.
The city has contracted Okalona-based Ausbern Construction Company to put a cement surface on the remaining unpaved portion of Greta Lane in its entirety as well as several sections of Collier Road.

Starkville residents interested in a different dining experience this weekend can look no further than its very own Veranda.
On Saturday, The Veranda will host a specialized five-course menu and wine tasting event beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available for $65 which includes tax and gratuity.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 at the River of Life Church in Abilene with Dr. David Ray officiating.
A graveside service will take place at 4 p.m. in the Woodson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Elmwood Funeral Home.
