Starkville Reads presents ‘Unbowed’ with Kardos

The empowering story of Wangari Maathai is capturing the attention of Starkville and Mississippi State University.

On Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Starkville Public Library, author and MSU English professor Michael Kardos will host a presentation and discussion on “Unbowed: A Memoir” by Maathai, the fourth Maroon Edition book selection.

Board to consider software upgrade for 911 computers

The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors is expected to take the final step necessary to update its county 911 emergency system by approving a software upgrade purchase for dispatchers’ computer systems at its 5:30 p.m. Monday meeting at the courthouse.
