The Eupora Eagles are playing their second Class A squad in the same number of weeks, but that doesn't mean the competition is lacking.

When Starkville School District Superintendent Lewis Holloway announced that teachers could use YouTube in their lessons more freely, teachers at the SSD’s teacher convocation Aug. 3 broke into applause.
Now that school has started, teachers are still applauding the move.
Mississippi State announced the departure of receivers coach Angelo Mirando on Sunday and it only took four days for head coach Dan Mullen to find his man as a replacement.
That man is former University of Minnesota head coach Tim Brewster.
Mississippi State University’s football program is under investigation by the NCAA for possible recruiting irregularities.
Officials from MSU and the NCAA confirmed Thursday that the two organizations are working closely in regard to a lengthy and ongoing recruitment investigation.

The Mississippi State football and volleyball programs have something in common this year.
Before the Bulldogs open with the Jackson State Tigers on the gridiron at Davis Wade Stadium on Sept. 1, the volleyball version steps onto the court at Newell-Grissom Building Friday night against the same school.

A British girl who was reported missing Sunday was found Tuesday in Starkville.
Amy Turner, 16, was vacationing with her parents in Orlando, Fla. when she allegedly ran away with 21-year-old Zachary A. Miller, of 516 Spruce Lane in Starkville.
