Before meeting Wade Williams, Jack Bryan wasnâ€™t bad at math, but he didnâ€™t enjoy it.
Bryan, now a senior at Starkville High School, first met Williams as a student in his trigonometry class. Since then, he said he has taken four math classes under Williams, and his ACT math score has risen from 27 to 34.

The Starkville Lady Yellowjackets didn't have to go searching for a reason to bounce back after a tough loss on Friday night.
Not when West Point comes to town.
After the Lady Jackets were defeated by Canton in Class 5A, Region 2 action 61-35, they turned the situation around and handled the Lady Green Wave 64-50 on Saturday night at home.
It's easy to start a game out on a hot streak and take an early lead. It's another thing all together to finish strong and get the victory.
For the Starkville High School boys' basketball team, starting strong has been easy, but closing out has been the difficult part.
Having won five of their last six games, it seems things are starting to click for the Starkville Academy Volunteers.
On Saturday, the team demonstrated its chemistry as the Volunteers defeated the Raiders of Oak Hill Academy 56-37.
LOUISVILLE â€“ The Starkville Christian School Cougars have played tournaments during the five-year history of the school and never came away as champions.
That is until Saturday night.
The Cougars defeated Tupelo Christian 48-44 in the championship game of the Grace Christian Invitational for the title.
