Townsend brings history of winning to staff of Bulldogs

Deshea Townsend brings experience and a history of winning to the Mississippi State coaching staff.
The first-year MSU cornerback coach, is experiencing his first year as a college coach. Townsend played 13 seasons in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent the last two seasons as a coach for the Arizona Cardinals.

Punches pitches MSU to win

Jacey Punches was just trying to give her team a chance in her first career start in the circle.
She did more than that. 
Punches tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout as Mississippi State edged Jackson State 2-0 Tuesday night at the MSU softball field.

MABEN – East Webster softball coach Lee Berryhill has been impressed lately with the way his team has never given up in games.
On Tuesday, the Lady Wolverines continued that mentality as they mounted a 5-1 victory over the Lady Indians of Ackerman.

Coach Rob Fyke wants to use this week's non-division tennis action to get the Starkville Yellowjackets in a groove.
Starkville got the week off to a good start on Tuesday afternoon by defeating Mississippi School for Math and Science at home.

Vols encouraged by play against tough competition

The Starkville Academy Volunteers may have run into a tough non-district opponent on Tuesday afternoon, but tennis coach Lynn Moorehead has been encouraged by the play of her team lately.
With the 7-2 home loss to Heritage, Starkville Academy's record stands at 2-2 overall with both wins coming against Class AAA, Division II competition.
