It could have been a big inning for the Central Arkansas Bears Friday night.
Two runners stood on base with no outs, then the Mississippi State Bulldogs got a record double play.

It's something he has done many times before while playing for Vancleave High School and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Wolverine McKee has busy schedule

MATHISTON – It's been a busy couple of weeks for East Webster Wolverine catcher Cody McKee.
After playing in the Northeast Mississippi Coaches Associaton for Better Baseball All-Star Game in Corinth last Saturday, McKee took the time on Wednesday to sign with Blue Mountain College.

City prepares for NCAA regional

City workers were busy planting new flowers and hanging signs along Main Street and the adjoining areas on Thursday morning in preparation for the weekend’s NCAA baseball regional at Mississippi State University. Banners welcomed visitors to the town, using the city’s signature “Mississippi’s College Town” tagline.

Mississippi State started the season on a 17-game win streak, but then Central Arkansas came to town.
The No. 14 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs lost two out of three to the Bears in early March in Starkville.
The Bulldogs (43-17) have an opportunity to get some revenge against the Bears (39-20) tonight. No. 1 seed MSU and No. 4 seed UCA meet at 7 p.m. in the Starkville Regional.
