One of the things that's the most impressive about the The Elite 25 Basketball is that Starkville native Travis Outlaw of the Sacramento Kings get his entire family involved with the fun.
It doesn't take one long to realize that the Outlaws are a close family and are quick to help each other out when it comes to things like this.

Starkville plans inaugural festivities

As one door closes, Starkville is making preparations to open another. The new Board of Aldermen and Mayor re-elect Parker Wiseman will take their oaths on July 1, beginning a new four-year term.

Supervisors name interim county attorney

June 25, 2013


Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors during its recess meeting Monday appointed local attorney Haley M. Brown as interim county prosecutor effective July 1.
She will replace longtime county prosecutor Roy Carpenter, who will retire June 30. The county will hold a special election in November to allow voters to select a permanent replacement.

Pirtle keeps getting on base for Bulldogs

OMAHA, Neb. – Brett Pirtle has been a constant on base this season for Mississippi State.
The junior second baseman extended his reach-base-safely streak to 43 games when he singled to center field Monday night in the fourth inning against UCLA in the first game of the College World Series championship series.

At least, that was the thought in the minds of Mississippi State University athletics and facilities associates when they decided to open up the stadium at Dudy Noble Field for the first game of the College World Series championship Monday night.

MSU's Ray doesn't want assumptions where team stands

The Mississippi State Bulldogs will be one year older and have more experience when they hit the basketball court in the fall for head coach Rick Ray's second year with the program.
Even though the fact is true that there is more familiarity with everyone associated with the Bulldogs, Ray warns that there is still some work to do.
