Trailing by six points at 45-39 early in the fourth quarter, the Cougars were searching for a spark.

Early merger tops schools agenda

SFD rules out arson in Shrine Club fire

Starkville Fire Department determined that an electrical fire severely damaged the Shrine Club building on Louisville Street early on Saturday morning.

SFD Fire Marshal Mark McCurdy said the investigation ruled out foul play.

Sammy J. Smith, 74 died November 18, 2013 at home in Starkville, MS.  He was a long-time merchant and owner of Smith & Byars Clothiers in Starkville, one of the oldest men's clothing shops in continuous operation in Mississippi.
