Errors gave cheaper fire insurance rates

A portion of Oktibbeha County residents are either paying or can expect to pay more for fire insurance than they were, but the rates themselves haven’t changed. Rather, residents are being charged the correct rates now, fire officials and insurance agents say.

City suspends OCH payments for ambulances

The Starkville Board of Aldermen voted 5-2 in favor of suspending payments to OCH Regional Medical Center for ambulance services and reallocating those monies to the city’s contingency fund Tuesday.

Borchert gives Bulldogs boost during home win

Colin Borchert got the best of a former teammate on Thursday night.

The Mississippi State forward and New Orleans guard Tradarrius McPhearson are transfers from East Mississippi Community College and they opposed each other on the basketball court.

Borchert scored a career-high 17 points to help MSU to a 97-46 victory over the Privateers at Humphrey Coliseum.

Starkville Academy gets 5-0 victory at Sportsplex

On Thursday at the Starkville Sportsplex, Starkville Academy soccer coach Robert Gardner wished the effort of Austin Miles could have been rewarded with a goal.

The Starkville Board of Aldermen voted 6-1 in favor of increasing the mayor’s salary to $71,500 and aldermen salaries to $15,000 at its meeting Tuesday.
