The Greater Starkville Development Partnership will hold a parade to honor the 175th anniversary of Starkville’s chartering at 9 a.m. Saturday on Main Street, bringing together representatives from Starkville’s business, governmental and academic communities.

Deshea Townsend brings experience and a history of winning to the Mississippi State coaching staff.
The first-year MSU cornerback coach, is experiencing his first year as a college coach. Townsend played 13 seasons in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent the last two seasons as a coach for the Arizona Cardinals.
Jacey Punches was just trying to give her team a chance in her first career start in the circle.
She did more than that.Â
Punches tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout as Mississippi State edged Jackson State 2-0 Tuesday night at the MSU softball field.
