A Steinway & Sons piano that belonged to legendary pianist Vladimir Horowitz has been touring the country, and on Tuesday evening, the piano was featured in West Point for a reception hosted by the Mississippi State University College of Education and Department of Music.

Starkville residents will be in the dark early Sunday morning as Tennessee Valley Authority works toward completing a $20 million transmission project.
The Starkville School District Board of Trustees named SSD Superintendent Lewis Holloway, board vice president Lee Brand and SSD parent Rex Buffington as the district's representatives on a seven-member consolidation study commission at the board's meeting Tuesday.
The commission will meet at 3 p.m. today in at the Mississippi Department of Education's offices in downtown Jackson.

Mr. Thomas Glen Oswalt, 73, of Starkville, MS; passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at his residence.Â

Thomas was an Entomology Technician with USDA for 38 years, served for 35 years in the Army National Guard and a member of Adaton Baptist Church.Â
