The Mississippi State men's basketball team will have a pretty good record by the end of the week if it can finish off a sweep of Sunshine State competition.
It was a start in that direction for the Bulldogs on Tuesday night as they defeated the Florida Atlantic Rattlers 78-65 at Humphrey Coliseum.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 @ Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Starkville, MS with Reverend Charles Brown, officiating.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2013 @ West Memorial Funeral Home in Starkville, MS from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM.

Young Bulldogs get plenty of work during scrimmage

Mississippi State enjoys utilizing the extra practices it gets with the participation in a bowl game on the horizon. 
The Bulldog coaching staff allows a good amount of younger players get reps that they don't get during the regular season.
On Tuesday, that process came to an end with a scrimmage at Davis Wade Stadium.

Choctaw County represented in Bernard Blackwell Classic

In 1950, former Mississippi State University football coach Arthur “Slick” Morton oversaw the beginning of a new all-star game in the state of Mississippi.
Flash forward 65 years, the game is now known as the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Football Classic and is set to be played this Saturday at Joseph Milner Stadium in Gulfport.

Aldermen to discuss Carver Dr.

Starkville’s Board of Aldermen are slated to consider accepting the low bid for a contract to improve drainage at Carver Drive Ditch during its recess meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at City Hall.

The proposed project calls for installing a box culvert and and covering with concrete the sides and bottom of a portion of the channel adjacent to the north side of a residential area.

Supes approve Mill resolution

The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a resolution of support for an effort to allow Mississippi State University to enter a 55-year lease with lenders for The Mill project.
