State women set for next SEC test today at Arkansas

The Mississippi State women's basketball team has gotten off to an 0-2 start once again in the Southeastern Conference just like last season, but there's a different feeling about what's taking place right now.
During the 2012-13 season, the Bulldogs lost their first two conference games at Vanderbilt 92-41 and to South Carolina at home 60-46.

SHS boys defeat New Hope 5-1

Two wins over Lowndes County competition over an 18-hour span was something that the Starkville High School boys soccer team needed to create momentum.
After the Jackets defeated Columbus 4-0 in a Class 6A, Region 3 match on Friday night, they followed it up with a 5-1 non-region win against New Hope on Saturday.

Lady Volunteers begin home stand strong

Saturday marked the beginning of a four-game home streak of conference games for the Starkville Academy and the Lady Volunteers started the home stand in good fashion by defeating Magnolia Heights 58-40.

Bulldogs seek more memorable moments today against Rebels

Rick Ray’s first taste of rival Ole Miss inside Humphrey Coliseum was memorable.
His Mississippi State Bulldogs knocked off the in-state rival Rebels 73-67 a season ago in Starkville to split the season series.
Ray urged students to show up and they did, making the Humphrey Coliseum a loud place and gave the Bulldogs the home court advantage.

SHS boys get easy win over Northwest Rankin

A big emphasis for Starkville High School head coach Greg Carter is getting into the lane and getting easy buckets.
His Yellowjackets listened Friday night.
The Jackets did most of their damage in the paint as they went on to beat the Northwest Rankin Cougars 64-32 in the Bee Hive in a Class 6A, Region 3, District 4 matchup.
