The bounce went the way of Martha Alwal and the Mississippi State Bulldogs Sunday afternoon.
Alwal took a shot that hit the rim and finally fell down through the net with 3.3 seconds remaining in the game and the Bulldogs upset the 16th-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores 64-62 at Humphrey Coliseum.

That's the feeling the Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers had Saturday after the team picked up its third Class AAA, Division II title in a row with a 48-40 victory over the Lady Cougars of Hillcrest Christian Academy.
Anna McKell had to sit on the bench with a shoulder injury while the Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers were making their run in the postseason last year.
Although she wished there had been a way to contribute for the Lady Vols in 2013, McKell was patient and made sure she was healthy before resuming her basketball career.
That was key for the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday.

The Mississippi State women's basketball team has come away with some nice wins at home in the Southeastern Conference this season.
Progress has been made for the Bulldogs with victories over Missouri 69-62 and Georgia 80-67 at Humphrey Coliseum.
As much as MSU takes pride in getting the job done in those games, it has some close to pulling off two more, but fell just short.
