Funeral services will  be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Third Mt. Olive Baptist Church, West Point, MS with Reverend Al Lathan, Sr., officiating.
Burial will follow at Memorial Garden of Columbus, Mississippi.
West Memorial  Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Volunteers seek consistent play through season

Starkville Academy (3-0) is no exception and tonight when they face off against Hillcrest Christian (1-2), head coach Jeff Terrill is looking for more out of his Volunteers.

Jackets benefit from open date

Some teams find time to correct some things during an open date from competition.
That has been the case this week for the Starkville Yellowjackets.
For some of the Jackets, it has been a time to even fix some teeth.
SHS football coach Jamie Mitchell said many of the players wait until the open date to schedule dentist and doctor appointments.

Starkville Academy sweeps home action

In a precursor to the varsity matchup tonight, the junior high squads of Starkville Academy and Hillcrest Christian met on the gridiron Thursday.
Even though the action was pushed back later into the evening, once underway it never slacked as the Volunteers concluded the contest with a 16-0 victory.

SA shuts out Washington 4-0
