Change behind the mic: Williams to assist Ellis with Bulldog basketball broadcasts

Richard Williams will be back inside Mississippi State's Humphrey Coliseum this season, but in a different capacity.
The former Mississippi State coach will join Jim Ellis for the MSU radio broadcast of men's basketball games, the university announced Thursday. He will be the color analyst and replaces Bart Gregory who will be a part of the new SEC Network.

The Bulldogs return junior Josh Robinson, who rushed for nearly 500 yards as a sophomore, sophomore Ashton Shumpert, utility offensive piece Brandon Holloway and senior Nick Griffin is finally healthy.
They also add freshmen Aeris Williams and Dontavian Lee.

Jamboree time: SA welcomes Noxapater to town

It has been all about practice, practice, practice for Starkville Academy, but tonight that all changes.
At 7 p.m., the Volunteers will suit up for a two-quarter jamboree game against Noxapater.
"It is a time for both teams to line up against somebody else," SA coach Jeff Terrill said. "We can knock the rust off and get in game speed."

Wolverines welcome Lions

MABEN – East Webster football coach Doug Wilson wants to see some specific things out of tonight's home jamboree and can't think of a better way to see where the Wolverines stand than to tangle with the Hamilton Lions.
East Webster and Hamilton meet in what is expected to be a two-quarter scrimmage in Cumberland at 7 p.m.

Lady Vols win home decision

Solid pitching, strong defense and clutch hitting were the keys on Thursday as the Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers secured an 8-3 softball victory over visiting Kemper Academy.
"When Karlie (Lockhart) pitches like that and the infield plays solid defense, we have a good chance of winning," SA coach Kayla Mosley said. "Add in that we hit the ball hard and it was a good performance."

MSU to welcome SEC Network - Launch party planned at Junction

There has been a long wait for the Southeastern Conference Network to launch, but that wait is finally over.

The SEC Network launches today at 5 p.m. with several live events and shows. Mississippi State is giving fans a chance to gather with other Bulldog fans and watch the birth of the network.

Cars are coming back to the former site of Templeton Motors on Highway 12 next to the National Guard Armory.

Barnes Crossing Auto Sales and Service of Starkville will hold its grand opening at that location today, selling used cars and renovating the site as part of the company's expansion from Tupelo.

Dr. Lewis Eugene Ryan passed away on August 6, 2014 at the OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. He was 94.
He was born October 17, 1919 in Cordova, TN to the late Odos Ryan and Pearl Bready Ryan.
