Insurance commissioner speaks about Obamacare

Mississippi Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney spoke about the Affordable Care Act to the Starkville Rotary Club on Monday.

The ACA, which is colloquially called “Obamacare,” has been a controversial issue, especially after enrollment to the law’s insurance exchanges opened to a rocky start in October.

Starkville Board of Aldermen unanimously accepted embattled Starkville Police Chief David Lindley’s letter of retirement during a called meeting Tuesday afternoon.

The board placed Lindley on administrative leave with pay on Friday after another called meeting. Lindley was to remain on leave while the city conducted an investigation.
