Joy Callahan used to grow blueberries in her backyard.

She and her husband Dick have lived at 204 Honeysuckle Lane, in the Longmeadow subdivision off of Louisville Street, since 1983. She said that stretch of time grew the maple trees behind her house into a natural fence, furthered by the backyard fences of Elm Street residents and a ditch.

SSD to act on bond funds - Board calls special meeting set for noon Tuesday

The Starkville School District Board of Trustees will hold a called meeting at noon Tuesday at the Greensboro Center to respond to the Starkville Board of Aldermen’s resolution asking SSD to return nearly $500,000 in surplus bond money so the city can reprocess the money and give it back to SSD properly.
