June 18th
Joshua Parrish McKay was born in Natchez Mississippi on January 5, 1979 to Rev. Roy Lee McKay and Marcia Ann Parrish McKay of Aberdeen MS. He passed away on June 16, 2013 in Meridianville, Alabama.
Besides his parents, Josh leaves behind a large family who loved him, especially his brother Matthew and his wife Hannah McKay and their son Isaac (Oklahoma City).

Mrs. Joyce Pugh Duke, age 87, died Sunday, June 16, in Hermitage, TN after a brief illness.Â
Memorial Services for Dr. Perry Brooks Dennis, Jr will be held at University Baptist Church, 3200 Arlington Loop in Hattiesburg, MS on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 10:00. Visitation will begin at 9:00.
June 17th
Hardy Tingle passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at Shands Hospital University of Florida after a long struggle with heart failure. He was born in Quitman, Mississippi November 25, 1946. He was preceded in death by his father, Fletcher W. Tingle.
Kim O'Brian Pettit, 72, passed away on June 15, 2013 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. She was a retired hairdresser and owner of the Hair Pen Salon in Maben.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Seisen Kinjo and Uta Watanabe; and first husband, Bud O'Brian.Â
June 10th
Alice Gray Black, 75, of Sturgis, MS; passed away at her residence on Monday, June 10, 2013 surrounded by her family.
Alice was member of Morgan chapel Baptist church, a homemaker and retired with Hershede Hall Clock Company and Starkville Manor, where she had worked for 11 years. She loved children.
June 9th
Leonard Hood Brandon, M.D., age 86, of Starkville, Mississippi, passed away on June 7, 2013 at 7:25 p.m. with his family by his side. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him and found him to be a steady and loving father, husband, friend and doctor.
Mr. James Thomas Bland, 87, of Maben, MS; passed away at his residence.
He was a veteran of World War II, a guard at the Nuremberg Trials, a Postmaster for Cumberland, and a Rural Mail carrier for Maben. He also loved to bow hunt.
June 3rd
Vernell Logan, 57, died Friday, May 24, 2013 in Bronx, New York.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at New BethelÂ
Missionary Baptist Church, Maben, Mississippi with Reverend Carlton Fisher, officiating.
Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery, Maben, Mississippi.
West Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Flora Mae Fulgham, passed away on June 2, 2013 in Starkville, MS. She was a homemaker and a member of Self Creek Baptist Church, where she was a church nursery worker and Sunday school teacher. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.Â
