HOOVER, Ala. – Alabama and Auburn have one of the most fierce rivalries in the nation.

It has been about two weeks since the first year of the coach Brian Jones era ended with the Starkville High School baseball team.
That era will only consist of one season.
On Monday night, Jones revealed that he has taken the same position with the Pearl High School Pirates.
John Cohen spent several years in Columbia, Mo. as a graduate assistant and an assistant coach.
Today the fifth-year Mississippi State head coach will be reunited with his former boss, this time in Hoover, Ala.
Hunter Renfroe brought a great amount of talent with him when he came to Mississippi State.
In his junior season, the Crystal Springs native showcased it, as he helped lead the Bulldogs to their first 40-win regular season since 1997.
This year's seven-member senior class of the Mississippi State baseball team are a close knit group.
Those Bulldog seniors are two solid catchers in Nick Ammirati and Mitch Slauter, pitchers Kendall Graveman, Luis Pollorena and Chad Girodo, first baseman and designated hitter Trey Porter and infielder Sam Frost.
All have contributed in some way to MSU's first 40-win regular season since 1997.
The Mississippi State women's golf team is in uncharted territory.

RIDGELAND – The East Webster Lady Wolverines were up for the challenge.
Utilizing a total team effort, the Lady Wolverines defeated the Enterprise-Clarke Lady Bulldogs 3-1 Saturday afternoon to claim the Class 2A Fast Pitch State championship.
