There's excitement in the voice of Starkville Academy football coach Jeff Terrill about the upcomingÂ schedule.
While this yearâ€™s slate of games is certainly no easy task for the Volunteers, who are a relatively young squad,Â theÂ StarkvilleÂ AcademyÂ staff is encouraged heading into the season.
â€śThere are no breaks week to week and I think it is even tougher than last year,â€ť Terrill said.
There won't many breathers from Friday to Friday for the Starkville Yellowjackets during the 2013 football season and that's just the way head coach Jamie Mitchell wants it.
Mitchell is excited about the venues, environments and competition that moving into Class 6A brings with it and the non-division schedule also.
"It is 100 times better," Mitchell said.
For the ninth time in school history, the Mississippi State Bulldogs have secured a spot in NCAA baseball's College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
The Bulldogs held on for a 6-5 win over No. 6 national seed Virginia Monday afternoon at Davenport Field to win the Charlottesville Super Regional.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. â€“ With Mississippi State leading Virginia 5-3 in the seventh inning, heavy rain and lightning forced a delay in game two of the Charlottesville Super Regional Sunday night at Davenport Field.
The rain was persistent and caused the game to be suspended. The two teams will resume play today at 3 p.m.

Junior outfielder Hunter Renfroe was taken by the San Diego Padres with the 13th overall pick Thursday night. Junior shortstop Adam Frazier was taken the Pittsburgh Pirates in the sixth round on Friday.
