The Starkville Yellowjackets needed to hear some good news during their open week.
On Monday, the Jackets got it concerning running back Preston Baker.
Baker, the leading receiver and second-leading rusher for the Jackets, suffered what initially looked like a severe injury to his lower leg in last Friday's 47-22 loss to West Point.

Eupora's special teams is one of the main reasons it has been able to get off to a hot start.

She delivered a single up the middle to score Mamie Hollenhead and the East Webster softball team beat Eupora 9-8 in eight innings in district game.
The Lady Wolverines (11-2) entered the bottom of the seventh inning trailing 5-3. Autumn Frost hit a 2-run home run to tie the game.
WEST POINT â€“ Mississippi State remains in fourth placed after two rounds of the inaugural Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational with a 598 team total.
The Lady Bulldogs stand at 22-over par which ranks among the best 36-hole totals in the programs history.
Additionally, State stands just 10 shots behind Southeastern Conference foe Kentucky.
