A strong unbleached cloth of hemp, flex or other course of yarn is used for painting called a canvas. To create is to bring things into being by having having a costume such as the dress of a bulldog, spelled in our great state of Mississippi and the finest university, Mississippi State University. We spell our bulldog who is our mascot, bulldawg!
Life is like a roll of toilet paper.Â The closer to the end you get, the faster it goes.Â
This was a milestone year for the Class of â€™65 and we had planned to milk it for all it was worth.Â Like Sleeping Beauty, we must have fallen asleep somewhere around Valentines Day and Prince Charming is out on a date with a 30-something year old, leaving us to snooze.

TROY, Ala. â€“ The Mississippi State Bulldogs passed their first road test of the season Saturday night.
Even though it was much tougher than expected, the Bulldogs did escape Troy with a 30-24 win to improve to 3-0 for the season for the first time since 1999.

Jimmy Cole is shining a present-day light on the unusual history of Oktibbeha Countyâ€™s past.
At 7 p.m Wednesday at the Starkville Public Library, Cole will present â€śThe Strange Things of Oktibbeha Countyâ€ť as a part of the continuing speaker series honoring Starkvilleâ€™s year-long 175th birthday celebration.

Motorists who frequent Louisville Street can expect to see construction to continue through the end of October, but the most difficult portions of the project have been completed, City Engineer Edward Kemp said.
Kate Mattox may be young, but that hasn't stopped her from competing against high school runners on the various cross country courses around the state.
On Saturday, the 8th grader Mattox finished first with a time of 14:52 at the Mississippi Horse Park just outside of Starkville on the Mississippi State course.
The Starkville Academy Volunteers didn't leave many doubts early that they would be improving their record to 3-2 for the season.
Starkville Academy scored early and often as it crushed Hillcrest Christian Academy 42-0 to open conference play.
CRAWFORD â€“ The East Oktibbeha High School Titans and the Ethel High School Tigers were teams fighting for their first win in the region this season.
The game was pivotal for the Titans, as this was the home opener of the 2012 football season. East Oktibbeha coach Randy Brooks talked with his players before the game to express the importance of this game.
MABEN â€“ Deangelo Liggins rushed for 68 yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns as the East Webster Wolverines got back on the winning track with a 35-0 victory against Walnut at home Friday night.
With the victory, the Wolverines improved their record to 4-1 this season.
Liggins had touchdown runs of 1 and 14 yards, while also tossing a 42-yard scoring pass to Tyler Doss.
