COVFD receives truck to replace ’96 pumper

Central Oktibbeha Volunteer Fire Department officials welcomed a new addition to their roster Friday.

The department is replacing its 1996 GMC pumper truck with a new 2012 Freightliner pumper built by Seminary-based Deep South Fire Trucks.

Exiting spring practice the Mississippi State Bulldogs felt pretty good about the work they had done and the questions they had answered. 

The newcomers were working in nicely and the rising seniors were leading, teaching, and coaching the youngsters.

‘SCT: Unplugged’ brings a different style to stage

Beginning Thursday, the cast and crew of “SCT: Unplugged” will bring a completely different style to stage for the theater’s 2012 summer musical fundraiser.

Carole Sorenson, who has worked with Starkville Community Theater for 10 years, said this show marks her first time in the director’s chair.
