Linebacker Benardrick McKinney and wide receiver Jameon Lewis had a chance to leave the Mississippi State football program early.
Neither felt the time was right and returned to the Bulldogs.
Lewis came back for his senior season and believes this could be a special season.

Youth, experience of MSU women to benefit from Europe trip

The Mississippi State women's basketball team will have a mix of youth and experience for the 2014-15 season.
MSU coach Vic Schaefer said the trip to Europe that is currently taking place for his team will benefit both areas.
Schaefer has watched as the Bulldogs have done a good job separating business from pleasure.

Jackets ahead of game after first day

The Starkville Yellowjackets are even farther ahead of the game after one day of preseason practice than they were at this time last year.
Not only do the Jackets return a veteran team, but they already have two practices under their belt that they didn't have last year. The first day of drills was washed out in 2013 because of rain.
