MSU's Howland adds forward Holman to 2015 signees

Mississippi State may have lost a player on Thursday, but added a signee for the 2015 class.
Bulldog guard Maurice Dunlap is transferring, an MSU official confirmed.
Bulldawgs 247 first reported the news on Thursday afternoon.

BREAKING: Woods to become SHS football coach

All indications Thursday afternoon have pointed to Ricky Woods becoming the next head football coach at Starkville High School.
Woods, who led South Panola to four Class 5A State championships from 2003-06, spent the last two years at Peabody High School in Trenton, Tenn. Newspaper reports out of Tennessee had Woods resigning that position on Thursday.

Wolverines edge Tarters: East Webster one win away from claiming state 2A title

PEARL – It came down to one final batter on Wednesday and East Webster head coach Wes Johnson wouldn’t have wanted anyone else on the mound.
With a one-run lead following a triple, Kolby Crowley finished things out to give the Wolverines the game one win in the Class 2A State championship series over Taylorsville 4-3.

The 2015 season may be over for Mississippi State, but that doesn't mean baseball is over for many of the Bulldogs.
Seventh-year head coach John Cohen will send 18 of his players to compete in summer ball this year. Of the 18, eight will play in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, the most in Cohen's tenure.

Mark Johnson became a successful head baseball coach at Texas A&M.
That opportunity may not have come his way if it had not been for the time spent under the leadership of coach Ron Polk at Mississippi State.
Johnson was an assistant coach with Polk for six seasons (1976-82) with the Bulldogs, then went on to College Station, Tex.

Year two at the helm for Starkville Academy baseball was a phenomenal one for coach Jody Britt.
After an 8-16 finish last year, Britt and the Volunteers improved to 23-10 overall and booked a trip to the playoffs before falling to Oak Forest (La.).

Bulldogs move to No. 8 in USTFCCCA track rankings

Mississippi State track and field coach Steve Dudley had a feeling his men's squad was going to move up in the rankings after their finish in the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championships.
They made a huge jump.
The Bulldogs finished eighth in the three-day event that was held at the Mike Sanders Track and Field Complex on the campus of MSU this past weekend.
