MSU defeats Auburn in front of huge crowd

After dropping its first three Southeastern Conference series, Mississippi State has fought back in a big way.
It wasn't more evident than Saturday afternoon.
The No. 18 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs beat the Auburn Tigers 6-0 in front of 14,562, the second largest crowd at Dudy Noble Field, to win the three-game Southeastern Conference series.

SMITH COLUMN: Bulldogs produce key two-out hit

There have been times when the Mississippi State Bulldogs have struggled to come up with key base hits during the baseball season.
Even though the Bulldogs left the bases loaded twice on Saturday, they produced in a key situation during the third inning of a 6-0 victory over the Auburn Tigers.

Maroon-White Game Time to shine

Tyler Russell has proven that he is capable of leading the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
On Saturday it was another quarterback that shined.
Junior walk-on quarterback Sam Cowart led the Maroon team to a 38-28 win over the White team in MSU's annual Maroon-White Spring Game at Davis Wade Stadium.

New group of receivers targets of signal callers

It appears that Mississippi State quarterback Tyler Russell has a new group of wide receivers to distribute the football around to this fall.
After losing such talent as Chad Bumphis, Arceto Clark and Chris Smith, a drop off could have happened for the Bulldogs.
During Saturday's Maroon-White Spring Football Game at Davis-Wade Stadium, MSU had a different look at wide receiver.

MSU gets official invite to Texas Kickoff Classic

Mississippi State fans already knew they were headed to Texas for a showdown against Oklahoma State to open the 2013 season, but Super Bulldog Weekend brought with it the official invitation.

Series deadlocked: Rally by MSU falls short in game two

Mississippi State showed little offensive production in the first eight innings.
The Bulldogs came to life in the ninth inning, but it was a little too late.
The No. 18 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs fell to the Auburn Tigers 3-1 in game two of a Southeastern Conference series Friday night at Dudy Noble Field.

State baseball caps with 'B' on auction block

The Mississippi State Bulldogs wore maroon "B" baseball caps in game one of the Southeastern Conference series with the Auburn Tigers on Thursday night to recognize and remember the recent bombings in Boston.
To further support the city of Boston, the hats were available for auction on hailstate.com beginning Friday afternoon and will be on the auction block until April 26 at 5 p.m.

Eupora beaten in first round game of Class 2A softball playoffs

EUPORA – It wasn't the type of start the Eupora Lady Eagles were looking for in the Class 2A State softball playoffs.
After falling behind 5-0 the Hatley Tigers in the first inning, the Lady Eagles cut the margin to two runs before giving up eight more runs in the fourth frame and ended up losing a 14-4 decision at home in five innings.

Dogs, Tigers suspended

The Mississippi State Bulldogs looked to be on the way to their fourth-straight Southeastern Conference victory.
Then lightening struck, literally.
The No. 18 Bulldogs (30-9, 8-7) were leading the Auburn Tigers (23-14, 5-10) 6-3 Thursday night in the bottom of the seventh inning when a flash of lightning was seen in the sky.
