Starkville High's Vo set to join Belhaven volleyball

Signing day was something Starkville High School volleyball player Vicky Vo had dreamed about for a long time.
She wasn't going to just do it half way.
During a party which included cake, ice cream and the works on Friday morning at the school, Vo was surrounded by family, friends and coaches to celebrate her signing with Belhaven University.

Bulldog Bougard wins heptathlon at the SEC meet

Erica Bougard went to sleep on Thursday night leading in the heptathlon at the Southeastern Conference Track and Field Outdoor Championships.
She went to sleep Friday night as the winner.
The Mississippi State senior won two of the three events on Friday at the Mike Sanders Track Complex on the campus of MSU to finish with a score of 6,250 and win the heptathlon by 247 points.

East Webster plays for fast pitch 2A title

Wolverines capture title of North 2A

AMORY – For a brief moment, it appeared that East Webster would be hosting a game three as Hatley started with a 7-1 lead Thursday night.
The fighting Wolverines were not to be denied, though. East Webster reeled off nine-straight runs to rally for a thrilling 10-7 win to win the North Class 2A crown and punch their ticket to the State Championship.

Jones takes dual-position talents from East Webster to Holmes CC

MABEN – Derek Jones became comfortable with playing two positions with the East Webster Wolverines.
It looks as if that will continue at Holmes Community College.
Jones, an outfielder and pitcher for the Wolverines, will take his talents to Goodman as he signed with Holmes Community College on Thursday in Cumberland.

SHS hosts five-team jamboree at Davis Wade

Starkville High School is hosting an all-day jamboree, involving five teams, at Davis Wade Stadium on the campus of Mississippi State University.

Bulldogs set for Lafayette

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have been there and done that.
They are happy to be doing it again.
For the second-consecutive season, the Bulldogs are playing a postseason regional in Lafayette, La.
MSU takes on Baylor today in the first round at 5:30 p.m. Host Louisiana-Lafayette and Weber State are also in the field.

Bougard off to good start with Bulldogs

Mississippi State's Erica Bougard had her sights set on winning the heptathlon entering the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championships on the campus of Mississippi State.
So far so good.
Bougard won three of the first four legs of the event at the Mike Sanders Track Complex Thursday to put herself in first place with a score of 3,820, 149 points better than the athlete in second place.

Vivians looking for a roster spot with Team USA

Victoria Vivians' summer will definitely feature basketball, but she might be representing her country in the process.
Vivians just finished her freshman season at Mississippi State and she will have the opportunity to earn a spot on the United States' rosters for the Pan American and World University Games the next couple of days.
