Mullen wants Bulldogs to rest during bye week

Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen doesn't know if a bye week can come at a good time or a bad time.
The No. 14 Bulldogs (4-0, 1-0) are in the midst of their first, and many believe it is a good time for it.
MSU is coming off an emotional win over LSU, which is the first against the Tigers since 1999. The Bulldogs are back on the field two Saturdays from now when they host Texas A&M.

Wolverine, leader, son: Wilson accepts responsibilities at East Webster

Jack Wilson wears many hats for the East Webster Wolverines.
Wilson plays many sports at East Webster, including the responsibility of the starting quarterback every Friday night for the Wolverines.
He may be the signal caller for his coach Doug Wilson, but he is also his son.
That creates quite the unique situation at East Webster.

Quarterback Dak Prescott is the Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the league, while Ben Beckwith wins the Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league announced Monday night.

Gordon happy with effort of MSU against Ole Miss

The Mississippi State soccer team may not have gotten a win out of its match with rival Ole Miss last Friday, but the Bulldogs did gain some confidence.
After allowing the visiting Rebels an early goal, MSU held them scoreless for the rest of the match.
The 1-0 loss to Ole Miss gave the Bulldogs a reason to be encouraged.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is on a "fact finding" mission involving the Mississippi State Athletic Department, co-president of the organization Annie Laurie Gaylor confirmed Monday night.
The FFRF is looking into the Bulldog athletic teams and its two chaplains, Matt Jolley and Bill Buckley.

MABEN – The East Webster Lady Wolverines defeated the New Hope Lady Trojans 15-10 in slow-pitch softball Monday evening.
East Webster's offense finished the game with 22 hits including three home runs.
