MSU sees a quick turnaround, plays Arkansas at home today

Mississippi State doesn't have much time to digest Thursday's loss to Ole Miss.
The Bulldogs have less than 48 hours to get ready for the next game.
MSU plays host to No. 18 Arkansas today at Humphrey Coliseum. Tip is set for 3 p.m. and can be seen on Fox Sports Net.

MSU rallies to defeat Marshall to open weekend

Mississippi State trailed Cincinnati three times last weekend.
All three times, the Bulldogs came from behind for a victory.
MSU trailed once again on Friday, and once again, it mounted a rally to take a victory. This time the No. 18 Bulldogs had a late comeback to down Marshall 6-2 on a chilly night at Dudy Noble Field.

Mississippi State has had all kind of success against Ole Miss in Humphrey Coliseum. 
The Bulldogs entered Thursday night's game winning 15 of the last 16 meetings against the Rebels at home.
Ole Miss got one this time around.
MSU fell 71-65 to Ole Miss as the Rebels swept the season series for the first time since 1998. 

State's Ray fails to get a win over Ole Miss during regular season

Rick Ray had at least one win against Ole Miss in his first two seasons.
Both of those wins came at Humphrey Coliseum, but he will leave this season without a win against the in-state rival. State could get another opportunity in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, but not likely.

Lady Wolverines click to handle Lady Trojans in region tourney

MABEN – The East Webster girls basketball team arrived on the hardwood Thursday firing on all cylinders.
Not once did the Lady Wolverines waiver from their game plan and in the end, it paid off with a Class 2A, Region 4 Tournament 81-29 victory over the Bruce Lady Trojans.

Eupora teams fall at Class 2A, Region 4 Tournament

MABEN – After trailing most of the game, the Eupora girls basketball team came soaring back in the final seconds to give the Lady Wildcats a fight. 
Still Calhoun City managed to hold on for a 74-71 Class 2A, Region 4 Tournament victory.
In the beginning, it seemed Calhoun City might walk away with its game over Eupora, the Lady Eagles however had other plans. 

Mississippi State expects to see more experienced pitching during weekend

Mississippi State saw eight freshmen pitchers last weekend – all from the Cincinnati pitching staff.
Miami of Ohio didn't throw any freshmen, but the Bulldogs were able to score seven runs off the Redhawks. For the weekend, the Bulldogs scored 48 runs in total to begin the 2015 season with a record of 4-0.

"Take a left when you get out of Starkville and a left when you get there," Rivers said.

Sometimes the summer can last a long time.
It lasts even longer when you are swept by your rival.
Mississippi State is trying to avoid the season sweep with in-state rival Ole Miss tonight. The Bulldogs (12-13, 5-7) and Rebels (17-8, 8-4) play at 8 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum in the final game of the two-game series. The action can be seen on ESPN2.

State's Schaefer sees potential in Richardson

Mississippi State women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer demands quite a bit from starting forward Breanna Richardson.
As he watches Richardson on the court during games, he sees all kinds of potential.
