French Camp Academy has taken no shortcuts when it comes to scheduling this season.
Right out the gate the Panthers took on top teams like Choctaw County and Eupora. While the wins did not come for coach Nathan Wright, there was a number of positives that emerged from those games.

Building process ongoing for Short with the Hornets

Coach Phil Short calls the football program at Greenville High School a "work in progress."
The Hornets are in a transition stage with the return of Short, who led the program about 10 years ago.
"I was here when Bill Lee was (the coach at Starkville) so we competed against each other during that time," Short said. "I'm back into it again so it's a different experience. It's coming along."

MSU's Mullen weighs importance of Auburn game

He leads his No. 3 Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0) into the biggest matchup of the week as No. 2 Auburn (5-0, 2-0) comes calling this Saturday.

Lady Yellowjackets compete well in 6A volleyball in the second year

Unfamiliar territory is exactly what Lauren Love's volleyball team embarked on when they moved up to Class 6A.
There were some bumps and bruises during the first year, but those have been sorted through. Now as the regular season comes to a close, Starkville finds itself with a 19-10 overall and 6-1 divisional record and sitting in second place in the division behind DeSoto Central.

MSU's Prescott building resume for ultimate national award

The name and the award have become synonymous this week as the Mississippi State quarterback has taken the nation by storm.
In his last two games – both Southeastern Conference contests – the junior has accounted for 729 yards of offense and eight touchdowns. 

National spotlight shines even brighter for Bulldogs with Sports Illustrated cover

Mississippi State's national spotlight keeps growing brighter and brighter.
Today, the Bulldogs grace the front of the Sports Illustrated cover for the first time ever. The cover features both MSU and Ole Miss for the big wins both teams had over the weekend.
The Bulldogs knocked off Texas A&M, while the Rebels upended Alabama. The headline reads "MISSISSIPPI MAYHEM."

SA's McKell, Pigg selected All-Stars

Coach Cole Andrews said it wasn't hard to see the value of Anna McKell and Janiece Pigg for the Starkville Academy soccer team last season.
