MSU eyes Ole Miss to start SEC soccer slate

The Mississippi State (3-4) soccer team will experience that feeling on Friday as it opens Southeastern Conference competition with a match against the University of Mississippi (5-1-2).

Mississippi State hung close with LSU for three quarters last year in Starkville.
The Tigers pulled away in the fourth quarter, as they scored 28 points in the final quarter to take a 59-26 victory.
LSU only led 31-26 going to that fourth quarter.
This year MSU head coach Dan Mullen understands it will take a full 60 minutes of play to come out on top.

The Yellowjackets have been clicking in the passing game and has been a major reason why they are 3-0 at this point with victories over Noxubee County, Oxford and West Point.

MABEN – Two tradition rich softball teams in its respective classifications met in a pair of slow pitch softball slugfests n in Webster County on Monday.
In Class 2A, that team is the East Webster Lady Wolverines.
Move up to Class 5A and the Lady Rockets of Neshoba Central fit that topic.
At Nikki Jones Memorial Field, the Lady Rockets won both games 27-16 and 25-12.

Mississippi State is right where it thought it would be after three games.
The Bulldogs are 3-0 after wins over Southern Miss, UAB and South Alabama on the road. MSU has just one non-conference game left with UT-Martin coming to Starkville for homecoming. Other than that, the Bulldogs play eight Southeastern Conference games.
