Arts Council plans annual gala

September 26, 2010

Starkville Area Arts Council volunteers say that plans are being made for the organization’s annual fundraising gala.
This year’s gala will be an elegant affair in keeping with the theme “Hats Off to the Arts.” Organizers are working hard to host a night of top notch entertainment, dining, and a silent auction in a glamorous setting for all attendees to enjoy.
The “Hats Off to the Arts” Gala will take place at the Mississippi State University Hunter Henry Center at 6 p.m. Nov. 6. Tickets for the event are open to the general public and are $75 dollars per ticket.
Tickets may be purchased from Arts Council board members or at the SAAC office located at 101 S. Lafayette St., Suite 118, in Starkville.
The gala serves as the SAAC’s major fundraising event for the year and provides funding of several grants and scholarships in the local area as well as funding for arts programming throughout the year. Included in the ticket price is a fantastic meal catered by Aramark and music to dance the night away provided by Swing Shift.
Guests will also have the chance to participate in a silent auction with the best local goods and services to entice bidders. And, with more entertainment to be announced, guests are sure to be treated to an amazing night of the arts.
Attending the gala is a great way to have a stylish night on the town while supporting local arts programming, artists, grants, and scholarships in the Starkville area, organizers say.
