OCH Regional Medical Center can now complete its latest expansion project.
Its planned-for renovation was approved for a cost up to $27.5 million when Oktibbeha Countyâ€™s bonding capacity fell short of the bond.
The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors had to get permission from the Mississippi Legislature to increase the countyâ€™s bonding capacity.
On Monday, the supervisors approved a $3.6 million bid for the remaining $6 million in construction from Morgan Keegan and Company Inc. of Memphis.
The two hospital bonds will fund renovation of the womenâ€™s care unit, construct a new patient room tower and add more parking.
Three other companies bid on the project, all out-of-state, with the highest at $4.2 million.
