Mississippi Stateâs annual performing arts series opens Tuesday with a solo performance by Grammy-award winning jazz guitarist Earl Klugh.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. Lyceum Series event in the Bettersworth Auditorium of historic Lee Hall are $15; $12 for senior citizens and faculty/staff; and $3 for children 3-12. Individual tickets may be purchased at the door.
In a career spanning more than three decades, Klugh has racked up 12 Grammy nominations, 23 Top Ten Billboard Jazz Chart albums and scores of other awards. He has recorded more than 30 albums, including the 2009 Grammy-nominated âThe Spice of Life.â
Known for his signature âsmoothâ jazz sound, Klugh has been invited to play with such diverse peers as Jimmy Buffet, Stevie Wonder, and Miles Davis.
He has recorded with artists that include George Benson and Bob James, as well as working extensively with symphony and youth orchestras.
He also serves as executive producer for âWeekend of Jazzâ that features world-renowned jazz artists in a variety of resort destinations.
