Homecoming Week begins at Starkville Academy

Starkville Academy will celebrate Homecoming 2010 with programs throughout the week, culminating in the football game against Winston Academy on Friday, September 24 at J.E. Logan Field.
Throughout the week, the dress up themes will be: Hip Hop Day on Monday; Senior Citizen Day on Tuesday; Disney Day will be Wednesday, and the elementary school will participate; Thursday will be Rock Star Day; and Spirit Day on Friday, where the elementary school will participate.
Homecoming Day Schedule include the Pre-K tailgate at 8:30 a.m.; the parade on campus will be at 9:15 a.m.; the Homecoming Court will be presented in the gym at 10 a.m.; and the pep rally will be at 1:45 p.m.
SA's 2010 Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime.
The SA Homecoming Court for 2010 are Senior Maids: Bailey Wofford, Neely Cook, Lauren Morgan, Shelby Carpenter, and Kali Burney; Juniors Maids: Anna Prestridge, Kat Garrard, Elizabeth Crissey, and Caitlin Russell; Sophomore Maids: Tiffany Huddleston, Sarah Beth Jones, and Payton Allen; Senior Escorts: Hamilton McBride, John Kyle Hewlett, Kyle Henson, Patrick Jones, and Jordan Graham; Junior Escorts: Colin Stokes, Zachary Gerhart, Michael Temple, and Ryan McKell; Sophomore Escorts: Taylor Hunt, Cole Phelps, and Zach Slaughter.
The Homecoming theme is "Battle of the Bands" featuring The Beatles, Journey, Kiss, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, and Queen.
Homecoming Floats will feature the bands, and a Skit/Lip Sync contest will be presented by each class.
The "Homecoming Bands" will be featured during the Pep Rally, along with the SA cheerleaders, Dance Team and The Volunteer Band in the gym Friday, Sept. 24 at 1:45 p.m.
Alumni, family, and friends are invited to attend the festivities on Friday including the parade, morning presentation and pep rally for the SA Volunteers.
