Last chances to vote absentee

October 28, 2010

Voters needing to cast absentee ballots for Tuesday’s general election have just today and tomorrow to do so.
Absentee ballots may cast at the Circuit Clerk’s Office in the Oktibbeha County Courthouse Annex on West Main Street during regular business hours — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. — today and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Any ballots being sent by mail must arrive in the Circuit Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. Monday in order to be counted with the results of Tuesday’s election.
Some voters who are out of town and requested absentee ballots by mail will need to check to ensure the proper zip code — 39759 — is listed on the return envelope, due to a printing error with some of the envelopes, said Circuit Clerk Angie McGinnis.
McGinnis said she and her staff attempted to catch the error on the envelopes for the out-of-town ballots, but some were mailed with the wrong zip code.
