Senior Anne Elise Parks of New Albany, daughter of Bill and Beth Parks, is the 2010 Homecoming Queen at Mississippi State University.
The queen and her court will be presented Saturday, Oct. 23, during halftime of the MSU-University of Alabama, Birmingham, football game on Scott Field in Davis Wade Stadium.
Members of the court include senior maids Leslie Davis of Memphis, Tenn., daughter of Gaye and Bill Davis; and Erica Kyle of Germantown, Tenn., daughter of Jim and Nola Kyle.
Representing the junior class are Kelli Snider of Brookhaven, daughter of Dean and Carla Snider; and Anne Eastland Vickery of Jackson, daughter of Mary Elizabeth and Earnest Jackson and Edwin Vickery.
Sophomore maids this year include Sarah Daws of Memphis, Tenn., daughter of Russell and Georgianne Daws; and Alyson Holliday of Gulfport, daughter of John and Lana Holliday.
Elected from the freshman class are Cari Brooke Canterbury of Greenwood, daughter of Terry and Penny Canterbury; and Christy McCool of Brandon, daughter of Craig and Leisa McCool.
Price, Haskins named Mr. and Miss MSU
Seniors Price Davis of Jackson and Libbo Haskins of Madison are the 2010 Mr. and Miss Mississippi State University.
The two were selected in a campus election and will be formally recognized Oct. 23 during halftime of the MSU-University of Alabama, Birmingham, football game on Scott Field in Davis Wade Stadium.
Davis, MSU Student Association chief of staff, is a biochemistry major and serves as president of the Alumni Association Delegates. A 2009 orientation leader, he is a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and is the son of Mary and Chris Shapley and Russ Davis.
Haskins is a communications major who is also one of the university's Distinguished Scholars. She serves as an MSU Roadrunner, member of the Student Association executive council and Chi Omega Sorority, and is the daughter of Liz and the late Tommy Haskins.
The 2010 Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally
Mississippi State University in inviting the public to join in the celebration of their 2010 Homecoming and Family Weekend that includes the Homecoming Parade, Bulldog Family Frenzy, and Pep Rally.
Also, the Little Bullies Walk is included in the parade this year. The Walk will begin at the Hunter Henry Center for all children interested in walking with cheerleaders and Student Association members. One of the main goals for this event is to encourage community involvement with the universityâ€™s activities. And Homecoming officials said the Homecoming Parade is the perfect opportunity for everyone to have fun and support their Bulldogs!
The 2010 Homecoming Parade isset for Friday, October 22, beginning at 5 p.m.
The route begins at Nash Street and University Drive and travels East through the historical Cotton District and onto campus before ending at the Amphitheater.
Parade participants will be asked to arrive by 4:30 p.m. to Nash Street.
After the parade, the Pep Rally will be held in the Junction beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Following the Pep Rally, everyone is invited to stay and enjoy the Bulldog Family Frenzy that will be held at the Amphitheater. The Bulldog Family Frenzy will consist of fun games, booths, jumpers, and a band for all to enjoy.
The theme for this yearâ€™s Homecoming is â€śWrap it in Maroon and White.â€ť
