NAME IN THE NEWS: Chelsea Renee Rice

Chelsea Renee Rice, daughter of Leo and tanya Rice of Starkville, has been selected as a finalist in the Pre-Teen Mississippi Scholarship and Recognition Program to be held this weekend at the Summit Center in Tupelo.
Rice is a student at East Oktibbeha County Elementary School. She is the granddaughter of the late John Tate Sr., Della Tate, the late Leo Rice Sr., and Annie Rice.
Pre-Teen Mississippi is a by-invitation only Scholarship and Recognition event involving young ladies 7 to 12 years of age, based on their school records, awards and honors won and/or their participation in outside activities.
Locally, Rice is sponsored by BlackJack M.B. Church, Mt. Airy M.B. Church, Starkville Housing Authority, Tax Assessor Pat Knight, Circuit Clerk Angie McGinnis, Chancery Clerk Monica Banks, MSU Poultry Science Dr. Collier, family and friends.
