Natural gas leak repaired at Maben Library

October 10, 2010

Atmos Energy crews uncovered a natural gass leak this week that has been a problem for patrons of the Maben Public Library.
Recently, several three or four inch holes were bored into the street and the Library parking spaces looking for the leak, but to no avail.
On Thursday, the Atmos Energy crews brought in a John Deere 310G back hoeand proceeded to tear up the street in front of the library.
Traffic and parking were diverted for the day while the repair was being investigated.
After digging the equivilant of a small size swimming pool, about 10 feet deep, the crew located the leak and proceeded to repair it.
