Mississippi State has set records and won a trophy already this season.
The Bulldogs captured the Southeastern Conference regular season championship behind school bests of 21 conference wins and nine league series victories.
For MSU to keep adding on accolades to its special season though, it's going to have to earn it as the Bulldogs navigate through the troubled waters that make up this weekend’s Starkville Regional.
“Our regional has the best RPI average of any group of four teams,” Mississippi State head coach John Cohen said. “We are going to have a fun regional. I think our kids have had a fun week of preparation and they are ready to compete.”
For more on the Bulldogs, see the story by Starkville Daily News MSU beat writer Joel Coleman in Friday's edition. The SDN staff also has previews of the other three teams of the Starkville Regional in Friday's newspaper.
