Improvements by Starkville Lady Yellowjackets Tabreea Gandy and Jalisa Outlaw has not gone unnoticed.

On Thursday, the two Lady Jackets received news that they had made postseason rosters for All-Star competition.

Gandy will play in the Mississippi Association of Coaches Mississippi/Alabama All-Star girls game, while Outlaw will participate in the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center North/South All-Star girls outing.

SHS girls coach Kristie Williams said the Mississippi-Alabama game recognition is special for any senior and is happy to see Gandy be a part of it.

"All of the awards and accolades she is receiving is great because of how hard she has worked to get to this point in her career," Williams said. "She's been a tireless worker since she's been in the varsity program and it's a real pat on the back for her to continue to receive these awards because she can do anything she puts her mind to.

"I'm very proud of her receiving this accomplishment. It's like icing on the cake for her to end her season as a Lady Jacket."

Outlaw is also getting better in the eyes of her coach.

As only a junior, Williams sees even more potential for Outlaw.

"She has the makings of being a really good player to go on tot do things at the next level," Williams said. "I'm pleased to see how far she has grown as a player and the willingness to continue to make herself better. One of the checkoffs on her list is to continue to grow as she progresses through her junior into her senior year."

Gandy, Outlaw and the rest of the Lady Jackets take on Murrah Friday night in Jackson. The Class 6A, Region 3 action begins with the girls varsity game at 6 p.m.
