WEDDING Gilmer-Kelly

Reid Nelson Kelly and Lindsey Claire Gilmer were united in marriage on September 18, 2010 at 4 p.m. on the terrace of the Alluvian Hotel in Greenwood, in a private family ceremony.
The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Ricky Wheat of Greenwood. A reception followed at the Alluvial Hotel.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Gilmer of Starkville. 
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Merritt Sheppard of Greenwood,  the late Mr. Robert Gilmer of Carthage and the late Dr. and Mrs. Bolivar Ayers Sims of Greenwood.
She is a 2006 graduate of Pillow Academy and a 2009 graduate of Mississippi Delta Community College with a degree in Culinary Arts.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kelly of Greenwood. 
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Crutcher of Greenwood, Mrs. Joan Rogers of Lyon, and the late Mr. Charlie Rogers and the late Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Kelly of Sidon.
He is a 2007 graduate of Pillow Academy and will graduate from the University of Mississippi in May 2011 with a degree in journalism.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless gown with a beaded waistband. 
The bridal bouquet was fall colored calalilies and orange roses with green hypericum berries. 
The brides bouquet was tied with a handchief that belonged to the groom’s great-grandmother, and she wore a pair of blue earrings which belonged to her grandmother.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception for the couple and family. 
The wedding cake featured three square tiers of white cake with buttercream icing on a silver cake stand and decorated with flowers matching the brides bouquet. 
The groom’s cake was a caramel cake.  Both cakes were made by Adrian Tribble and Gwen Toomey of Delta Delicacy of Greenwood. 
The guest also enjoyed fresh fruit, assorted cheeses, shrimp, grilled pork tenderloin, fried chicken strips, crab stuffed mushrooms, dips and crackers and sweet tea, all catered by the Alluvian Hotel.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Delta Bistro the evening before the wedding.  
The couple is making their home in Oxford.
The couple was given a Bridal Shower/Brunch on September 11, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Locke.  Hostess for the shower were Claire Bush, Lisia Cannon, Jan Champion, Nancy Holliday, Lisa Land, Jan Locke, Dot Miller, Margie Muse, Deleslyn Robertson, Carla Sutphen, Gwen Toomey, Adrian Tribble, Georgia Williams and Rima Williams.
