Ms. Lynette Jordan of Lexington is happy to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of her daughter, Joanna Leigh Howard of Starkville, to Prentiss Cortez McLaurin III of Starkville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Prentiss Cortez McLaurin, Jr. of Starkville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Patricia Jordan and the late Lynn Jordan of Lexington. The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Prentiss Cortez McLaurin of Greenwood and Mrs. Doris Beery Perry and the late Allen Glenn Perry of Philadelphia.
Miss Howard is a 2003 graduate of Central Holmes Christian School in Lexington and attended Holmes Community College and East Mississippi Community College. She is employed as the accounts payable clerk for the City of Starkville, working in the Office of the City Clerk.
Mr. McLaurin graduated from Starkville High School in 2001, received an Associate of Arts Degree from East Mississippi Community College, where he was a member of the EMCC baseball team. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mississippi State University. He works as an information technology analyst for MetroCast-Mississippi, home-based in the Starkville area office.
The wedding and reception for immediate family will take place on August 21 in Pensacola Beach, Fla.
