HOOVER, Ala. – This past week has to be one of the most exciting in the life of Mississippi State baseball player Adam Frazier.

Frazier learned last Sunday he made the USA National team, Mississippi State won the Southeastern Conference Tournament championship beating Vanderbilt 3-0 on Sunday, he was selected to the All-Tournament Team and was voted the Most Valuable Player of the entire tournament.

Frazier went 12-for-23, a .522 average, during the six Mississippi State games, recording a hit in each game. He drove in three runs and had a double. He now has a 12-game hitting streak.

"I was just seeing the ball pretty good," Frazier said. "I got some pitches to hit. Luckily some balls found the holes. Just seeing some good pitches and hitting them."

Frazier has reached safely in 51-of-61 games this season. He is now batting .376 with 88 hits this season. He now has driven in 26 runs.

"The new bats work better for me to be honest," Frazier said. "I am not a power guy. I kind of like (the bats) to be honest with you."

Frazier went 1-for-3 in the championship game. He also had a run batted in when he was walked with the bases loaded.

"That is how we play," Frazier said. "A sacrifice bunt here and there, a sacrifice fly, a walk, a hit and a hit by pitch – that's how we play. That is what we need to get runs in sometime and that is how we do it."

Frazier also did it with the glove. He had 11 putouts and 18 assists. He only had two errors the whole week.

"You just take it day-by-day," Frazier said. Everyday you are playing a really tough opponent so you have to come ready to play. That win against LSU gave us a second wind and pushed us through these last three games.

"That was huge. We just weathered the storm."

The Bulldogs turned nine double plays with most of those involving Frazier and second baseman Sam Frost.

"We practice everyday," Frazier said. "Late in the season, we got some great chemistry."
