James E. Springstead, 69, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at his residence in Caledonia.Â
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home in Starkville with Michael Springstead, Rev. Charles Mullins and Rev. Martin Carden officiating.
Burial will follow at Double Springs Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home.
Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was a retired machine technician with Omnova Solutions, very active in his church, Immanuel Baptist Church for 40 years, where he was a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and was one of the founding fathers for Immanuel Christian School.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Fulgham Springstead of Caledonia; daughter, Paula Springstead Hill (Jody) of Brandon; sons, Michael David Springstead and wife, Rebecca Gosey Springstead of N. Augusta, S.C. and Mark Allen Springstead of Brandon; sister, Mary Ruth Caradine of West Point; five grandchildren and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Ross Springstead and Julia Emma Caradine; and sister, Ruth Miles.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church, Caresitters, Gentiva Hospice and prayer warriors.
